Heather Kannam has extensive experience in admissions offices and counseling. In the past three years she has helped students who were admitted to top colleges across the US including Stanford, Yale, UPenn, UChicago, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, Duke, MIT, NYU and Johns Hopkins. She earned her MFA from the University of Iowa Playwrightsโ Workshop and was a Senior Fellow in playwriting at Dartmouth College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude. She received a grant from the Kennedy Centerโs Fund for New American Plays, a project in cooperation with the Presidentโs Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Her fantasy novel LightLand, published by Scholastic/Orchard Books, earned a starred review in Publishers Weekly. She is an internationally produced playwright and novelist, and the artistic director of a non-profit community theatre. Her own children have attended Dartmouth College, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Boston University Law School. Her youngest was accepted at Harvard and Yale this yearโ the most competitive on record. Her son will attend Yale University with intention of studying Theatre!
