Use this worksheet for a first pass in 5โ15 minutes. Fields are temporary and are not saved when you leave or reload. Copy or print your work before leaving; keep sensitive identifiers and full records outside this worksheet.
Submitting Cal State Apply completes an important step, but it should not be your last check. Follow the instructions from each CSU campus and any program that requires additional work. A task requested by one campus may not apply to another.
Use this tracker for the period after submission, keeping campus-specific requirements separate from the main application receipt.
Establish a record for every campus
Save your application confirmation and watch for official campus communications. Set up each applicant portal through the campus's published instructions. Check the email address used on the application, including filtered messages.
The Cal State Apply resources page provides guides and support by applicant type and entry period. Use the guide for your cycle, then check the campus's own instructions for tasks that follow.
Use a card for each campus or program in this first pass. For additional campuses, copy or print this worksheet and repeat it. Main application receipt, requested-task sending, and task receipt are separate facts.
Include only tasks actually required or requested for your situation. An empty task list at one campus does not establish that all campuses are complete.
Sort the request before acting
Distinguish an academic clarification, a program supplement, a request for documents, and an enrollment task that applies only after admission. Read whether the student, school, or another person must submit the material.
If you applied to an additional support program, check its separate instructions as well. Do not assume that checking an interest box finishes every related step.
Keep campus rules attached to the campus
In a hypothetical example, one campus asks a student to clarify coursework while another shows no outstanding academic task. Send the clarification through the first campus's stated route. Do not automatically send the same document everywhere or edit unrelated records without instructions.
Similarly, campus selection factors and additional submission tasks are different concepts. CSU's supplemental-factor overview is a starting point for understanding campus differences, not a universal to-do list for all applicants.
Investigate incomplete status with evidence
Record when an item was sent, how, and by whom. Check the campus's stated processing guidance before treating a status delay as a missing submission. If a deadline is close or information conflicts, ask the responsible office a focused question with the application identifier and relevant confirmation.
Do not create a second application to solve a portal problem.
Keep checking until the required work is resolved
Use a regular review routine that fits the deadlines rather than constant refreshing. Retain confirmations and add new requests as they arrive.
The application checklist covers the wider process. If several systems and campus tasks are becoming difficult to coordinate, IvyReady's undergraduate support can help the student establish a manageable plan.
If you want help organizing the academic questions and next steps, IvyReady can help you compare the planning choices. The institution remains the authority on its requirements.
